**Special Abilities**:

– **Haunting Presence**: Creatures within 30 feet of the Injured Shade must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened until the end of their next turn.

– **Cursed Resurgence**: When the Injured Shade drops to 0 hit points, it can unleash a burst of necrotic energy. Each creature within 10 feet must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw, taking 3d6 necrotic damage on a failed save or half as much on a success.

**Actions**:

– **Multiattack**: The Injured Shade makes two attacks: one with its Shadow Grasp and one with its Disturbing Wail.

– **Shadow Grasp**: Melee spell attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d10 + 3) necrotic damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or have their hit point maximum reduced by an amount equal to the necrotic damage taken until the target finishes a long rest.

– **Disturbing Wail**: Area effect, Recharge 5-6: The Injured Shade releases a chilling wail. Each creature within a 30-foot radius must make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw, taking 27 (6d8) psychic damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success.

**Description**: The Injured Shade is a malevolent spirit of one who suffered greatly and was left abandoned to die. Manifesting a distorted visage, its body flickers with shadows and is wreathed in a veil of sorrowful moans. It uses its haunting presence to instill fear in adventurers, often lurking in dark alleys or abandoned locations, waiting to strike those who forget the tragedies of lives lost or injury ignored. When it attacks, it prefers to strike swiftly and retreat into the shadows, relentlessly pursuing its prey before delivering a deadly wail that echoes with the torment of its past.
