**Special Abilities**:

– **Haunting Presence**: Creatures within 30 ft. that can see the Vengeful Wraith must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A frightened target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

– **Life Drain**: Melee Spell Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 21 (6d6) necrotic damage, and the Wraith regains hit points equal to half the necrotic damage dealt.

**Actions**:

– **Multiattack**: The Vengeful Wraith makes two Life Drain attacks.

– **Withering Touch**: Melee Spell Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 27 (5d10) necrotic damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or have its maximum hit points reduced by the amount of necrotic damage taken until the target finishes a long rest.

– **Etherealness (Recharge 5-6)**: The Wraith can shift from the Material Plane to the Ethereal Plane, allowing it to avoid damage and reposition itself during combat.

**Description**: The Vengeful Wraith is a lingering spirit tormented by the memories of betrayal and anguish from its life. It often manifests in places of significant tragedy or death, emerging to haunt the living and exact vengeance for its unjust end. Tactical in nature, it employs stealth and psychological warfare to instill fear into its targets, draining their life force while striking from the shadows. The creature's demeanor is cold and calculating, relishing the suffering it inflicts as it haunts its victims relentlessly.
