Tier 2 – The Storm’s Legacy

**Tier 2 play**

In the high-fantasy realm of Eldoria, where magic weaves through the very fabric of reality, the quaint village of Eldergrove has recently fallen into despair. The once-bustling marketplace is now eerily quiet, and the vibrant colors of the flowers lining the cobblestone streets have begun to fade. Whispers of a powerful storm, dubbed "Storm Bert," have echoed through the townsfolk, and with it, the land has suffered strange and unnatural phenomena.

The party finds themselves summoned by the village elder, a wizened woman named Elara, who stands before them in her modest cottage adorned with herbs and trinkets of arcane nature. Her voice trembles with urgency as she explains that the storm is not a mere act of nature; it is a manifestation of dark magic unleashed by a rogue sorcerer named Malakar. Once a protector of Eldergrove, Malakar has succumbed to madness, believing that only by flooding the village can he cleanse it of what he perceives as impurities.

The adventurers are tasked with investigating the source of Malakar's power, which is said to be hidden deep within the Whispering Woods, a forest that pulses with ancient energy and is known for its treacherous paths and enchanted creatures. The party must navigate through the shifting trees, where the very air hums with magic, and illusions can lead even the most seasoned adventurers astray.

As they delve deeper into the woods, they encounter various challenges: enchanted beasts like the Luminescent Lynx, whose glowing fur can blind intruders, and mischievous Pixies that play tricks on the unwary. The party must use their wits, skills, and teamwork to overcome these obstacles, gathering clues about Malakar's whereabouts.

Eventually, they reach a clearing where a massive, ancient tree stands, its roots entwined with dark, swirling energy. Here, they find Malakar, surrounded by a tempest of wind and rain, his eyes glowing with a malevolent light. He wields the power of the storm, channeling it to unleash devastating spells upon anyone who dares approach.

**Boss Enemy: Malakar, the Storm Sorcerer**

– **HP:** 80

– **AC:** 15

– **Attack:** Lightning Bolt (Spell Attack +7, 3d10 Lightning Damage)

– **Special Ability:** Storm's Wrath (Once per encounter, create a storm in a 30-foot radius, causing 2d6 Lightning Damage to all within range at the start of their turn until the storm is dispelled.)

As the party confronts Malakar, they must not only defeat him but also find a way to dispel the dark magic that binds him to the storm. They can use their skills to persuade him to see reason, or they can engage him in combat, hoping to break the spell through sheer force.

Once Malakar is defeated, the storm begins to dissipate, and the village of Eldergrove can begin to heal. The party's actions will determine the fate of the village and whether they can bring peace back to the land. Will they uncover the truth behind Malakar's madness and restore balance, or will the storm’s legacy haunt Eldergrove forever? The fate of the village rests in their hands.
