Tier 2 – The Spirit of Justice in Eldoria

**Tier 2 play**

In the vibrant city of Eldoria, where magic flows as freely as the rivers and the skies shimmer with the hues of enchantment, a dark shadow has fallen over the bustling marketplace. The once lively streets now whisper of fear and uncertainty, as rumors of a vengeful spirit haunt the townsfolk. It is said that the spirit of Craig Moult, a beloved local merchant, has returned to seek justice for his untimely demise at the hands of his friend, Leroy Lawrence.

The players find themselves drawn to Eldoria, where the air is thick with the scent of spices and the sound of laughter seems muted. As they arrive, they are approached by a distraught woman named Elara, Craig’s sister, who pleads for their help. She explains that Leroy has been jailed, but the spirit of Craig has been seen wandering the marketplace, causing chaos and instilling fear. The townsfolk believe that unless justice is served, the spirit will bring ruin to Eldoria.

**Adventure Hook:**

The party must investigate the circumstances surrounding Craig’s death and gather evidence to either prove Leroy’s guilt or innocence. They will need to speak with witnesses, explore Craig’s home for clues, and confront the spirit to uncover the truth.

**Key Locations:**

1. **The Marketplace:** A bustling hub where merchants sell their wares. Here, the players can gather information from locals who may have witnessed the altercation between Leroy and Craig.

2. **Craig’s Flat:** A modest dwelling filled with remnants of his life. The players can search for clues, such as a broken vase or a hidden letter that reveals a deeper story.

3. **The Jailer’s Keep:** A fortified building where Leroy is held. The players must negotiate with the guards or use their skills to gain access and question Leroy about the events leading up to the murder.

**Enemies:**

– **Vengeful Spirit of Craig Moult:**

– **HP:** 40

– **AC:** 15

– **Attack:** Ethereal Touch (Melee Attack, +6 to hit, 1d8 + 3 necrotic damage)

– **Special Ability:** Haunting Wail (Recharge 5-6; all creatures within 30 feet must succeed on a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened until the end of their next turn).

**Climactic Encounter:**

As the party gathers evidence and pieces together the truth, they confront Craig’s spirit in the marketplace during the evening, where the magical lanterns flicker ominously. The spirit, filled with rage, demands to know why he was betrayed. The players must choose their words carefully and either calm the spirit or prepare for a confrontation.

**Resolution:**

If the players can convince Craig’s spirit of Leroy’s innocence, they will help him find peace and restore balance to Eldoria. If they fail, they may have to defeat the spirit, but in doing so, they risk further angering the townsfolk and potentially facing the consequences of their actions.

As the sun sets over Eldoria, the party stands at the crossroads of justice, where truth and magic intertwine. Will they uncover the secrets of the past, or will the spirit’s wrath consume the city? The fate of Eldoria rests in their hands.
