Tier 2 – The Mischievous Spirit of Eldenwood School

**Tier 2 play**

In the vibrant realm of Eldoria, where magic flows like rivers and the skies shimmer with the hues of enchantment, a peculiar incident has stirred the tranquility of the town of Eldenwood. The townsfolk have reported strange occurrences surrounding the old schoolhouse, a once-cherished place of learning now shrouded in mystery. Whispers of a mischievous spirit have spread like wildfire, claiming that it has taken up residence in the school, causing chaos and confusion among the children.

As the party arrives in Eldenwood, they are greeted by the anxious faces of parents and teachers alike, all pleading for help. The school’s road markings, once clear and precise, have been mysteriously altered to read “Now that’s klear!” in a comically misspelled manner. This oddity has not only disrupted the daily routine but has also drawn the ire of a powerful fey spirit known as the Scribbler, who thrives on chaos and mischief.

### Adventure Hook:

The party is tasked with investigating the source of the disturbances. They must venture into the schoolhouse, where they will encounter enchanted chalkboards, animated textbooks, and mischievous quills that dart around like fireflies. The spirit has hidden itself within the school, leaving behind riddles and clues that the adventurers must decipher to locate it.

### Exploration Component:

As the party explores the school, they will face various magical phenomena:

– **Enchanted Classroom**: The desks rearrange themselves, creating a maze. The party must navigate this maze while avoiding animated chalk that attempts to scribble nonsense on their maps.

– **Library of Whispers**: Here, the books whisper secrets and riddles. Solving these riddles will grant the party insight into the Scribbler’s motivations and weaknesses.

– **Playground of Shadows**: Outside, the playground is alive with shadowy figures of children playing. The party must engage with these shadows to learn more about the spirit’s past and why it has chosen to haunt the school.

### Enemy Encounter:

Eventually, the party will confront the Scribbler in the heart of the school, where it has created a chaotic realm of swirling ink and paper. The Scribbler, a mischievous fey spirit, is both playful and dangerous, wielding the power of illusion and confusion.

**Scribbler Stats:**

– **Type**: Fey

– **Armor Class**: 15

– **Hit Points**: 60

– **Speed**: 30 ft., fly 60 ft. (hover)

– **Abilities**:

– **Illusory Duplicate**: Once per turn, the Scribbler can create an illusory duplicate of itself that lasts until the end of its next turn.

– **Confounding Scribble**: The Scribbler can cast *Confusion* (save DC 15) once per day.

– **Ink Blast**: Ranged spell attack, +7 to hit, range 60 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (4d6) acid damage and the target must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or be blinded until the end of its next turn.

### Conclusion:

To defeat the Scribbler, the party must use their wits and creativity, perhaps by turning its own tricks against it or finding a way to appease it. Once defeated, the spirit reveals its true form—a playful sprite who only sought to bring joy through chaos. The party can choose to banish it, negotiate a truce, or even invite it to help the school with its magical curriculum.

As the adventurers leave Eldenwood, the townsfolk celebrate their bravery, and the school is restored to its former glory, with the road markings now reading “Welcome to Eldenwood School!” in perfect spelling. The party leaves with a sense of accomplishment, knowing they have brought peace back to the town and perhaps made a new friend in the process.
