Tier 2 – The Obsidian Wyrm’s Curse

**Tier 2 play**

As the sun sets over the mystical realm of Eldoria, splashes of orange and violet paint the sky, casting long shadows across the vibrant landscape. A gentle breeze whispers through the enchanted Forest of Eldergreen, its veins of shimmering magic flowing like streams of light. The air is rich with the scent of wildflowers, their luminescent petals glowing softly in the twilight. However, an ominous tension hangs in the air—a restless energy that speaks of impending conflict.

Your adventurers find themselves gathered in the quaint village of Larkspire, known for its tranquil beauty and friendly inhabitants. Yet today, the atmosphere is tense, as news has spread of a rising darkness corrupting the local flora and fauna. A once-harmonious melody of chirping birds and rustling leaves has turned into an unsettling silence, broken only by the distant rumble of thunder—a storm that never seems to truly arrive.

The local elder approaches your party, an ancient figure resembling a twisted tree, with deep-set eyes that seem to hold the weight of centuries past. She speaks in a gravelly voice, “Adventurers, a malignant force known as the Obsidian Wyrm has made its lair in the nearby Ruins of Eldorath. It feeds on the life of the forest, tainting it with an insatiable hunger. We ask for your aid. Find the Wyrm and put a stop to its dark gluttony before it can spiral the land into madness!”

Armed with a mission and a sense of urgency, your party sets off towards the aforementioned ruins, their structure looming ominously against the dusk-lit sky. Tangles of vines and foliage enshroud the ancient stones, concealing the remnants of a once-magnificent civilization. The path grows narrow as they delve deeper into the heart of the ruins, with shadows dancing along the dilapidated walls.

Suddenly, a low growl breaks the stillness—the Wyrm's minions, fierce and shadowy beasts animated by dark magic, emerge from the gloom, their eyes glowing with malice. The party must now face these denizens of the darkness, battling against creatures that can sap their strength and drain their resolve.

As the skirmish unfolds, the adventurers can feel the very ground tremble beneath them, a signal of the Wyrm’s attention. After defeating the minions, the colossal form of the Obsidian Wyrm rises from the depths of the ruins, shimmering like polished coal with piercing crimson eyes. It releases a deafening roar, echoing through the crumbling stone as it challenges your party to put an end to its reign.

**Obsidian Wyrm (Boss Enemy)**

– **HP**: 120

– **AC**: 16

– **Attack**: Bite (+8 to hit, 2d10 + 4 piercing damage)

– **Breath Weapon**: Recharge 5-6 (50 ft cone, 4d10 necrotic damage, DC 15 Con save for half)

– **Special Ability**: Shadow Veil (once per encounter, becomes invisible for 1 turn; can reappear in a space within 60 ft)

As the final confrontation unfolds, the fate of the village hangs in the balance. The heroes must use their wits, strategy, and perhaps the remnants of ancient magic found within the ruins to subdue the Wyrm. Should they succeed, a new dawn will rise over Eldoria—rich with hope and life once more. If they fail, the dark curse will spread, burying Larkspire under an eternal shadow.

Your players are now ready to step into the heart of adventure, their path ever illuminated by the flickering flame of destiny!
