Tier 2 – The Frost Wraith’s Curse (1)

**Tier 2 play**

As the sun dips below the horizon, casting a golden hue across the bustling town of Eldergrove, the air is thick with the scent of spiced cider and roasted meats. The townsfolk, clad in warm cloaks, chatter animatedly about the recent surge of illness that has swept through their community. Whispers of a mysterious figure, known only as the Frost Wraith, spread like wildfire, claiming responsibility for the unseasonably harsh winter and the wave of sickness that has befallen Eldergrove.

Your party finds themselves in the heart of the town, gathered in the cozy tavern known as The Gilded Hearth. The crackling fireplace casts flickering shadows on the walls, where old tapestries tell tales of heroic deeds long past. A worried town elder approaches your group, his face lined with concern. “Adventurers,” he implores, “the Frost Wraith has cursed our town! We need brave souls to investigate the source of this malevolence and put an end to it before the entire town succumbs to the chill of despair.”

The elder explains that the Frost Wraith is rumored to reside in the Frostbound Cavern, a treacherous ice cave located deep in the nearby Frostpeak Mountains. Legends say that the Wraith feeds on the life force of the living, and its presence has caused the winter to stretch longer than ever before. The townsfolk are losing hope, and if the party does not act quickly, Eldergrove may never see spring again.

Your adventure begins as you gather your supplies and set out towards the Frostbound Cavern. The path is fraught with challenges: icy winds whip through the trees, and the ground is slick with frost. As you ascend the mountain, the air grows colder, and the howling winds carry with them a haunting melody that seems to echo the Wraith’s lament.

Upon reaching the cavern entrance, the air is heavy with an unnatural chill. The walls shimmer with frost, and the sound of dripping water echoes ominously. As you venture deeper, you encounter various enchanted creatures twisted by the Wraith's magic—ice sprites that attack with shards of frozen light and spectral wolves that guard the path to their master.

Finally, you come face to face with the Frost Wraith, a spectral figure cloaked in swirling frost and ice. Its eyes glow with an ethereal blue light, and it raises its hand, summoning a blizzard that threatens to engulf you.

**Boss Enemy: Frost Wraith**

– **HP:** 75

– **AC:** 15

– **Attack:** Frostbite Touch: +6 to hit, 2d8 cold damage

– **Special Ability:** Blizzard (Recharge 5-6): Creates a swirling blizzard in a 20-foot radius, causing 3d6 cold damage to all creatures within and reducing visibility.

As the battle rages, the party must use their wits and teamwork to overcome the Frost Wraith’s powerful magic. The cavern is filled with echoes of their struggle, and the very walls seem to shudder with each clash of steel and spell.

Should the party succeed in defeating the Frost Wraith, the curse will lift, and the town of Eldergrove will be saved. As the Wraith dissipates into a flurry of snowflakes, the air warms, and the promise of spring returns. The townsfolk will celebrate their heroes, and your party will leave with tales of bravery and the knowledge that they have restored hope to a beleaguered town.
