Tier 2 – The Order of the Shattered Sigil

**Tier 2 play**

In the vibrant realm of Eldoria, where magic weaves through the very fabric of existence, a dark shadow looms over the peaceful town of Willowdale. The townsfolk, once filled with laughter and joy, now whisper of strange occurrences and a rising tide of unrest. Reports of a mysterious cult, known as the Order of the Shattered Sigil, have surfaced, claiming that they seek to unleash an ancient power to reshape the world in their image.

As the sun sets, casting a warm golden hue over the cobblestone streets, you gather in the town square. The air is thick with tension, and the scent of blooming jasmine mingles with the distant sound of chanting. A frantic villager approaches your party, eyes wide with fear. "Please! You must help us! The cult has taken over the old chapel on the hill. They’ve summoned something terrible, and they plan to unleash it during the Blood Moon!"

Your quest is clear: investigate the old chapel, uncover the cult's plans, and stop them before it's too late. As you make your way through the winding paths leading up the hill, the atmosphere shifts. The once peaceful landscape is now shrouded in mist, and the air crackles with an unsettling energy. Strange symbols carved into the trees guide you toward your destination, each one glowing faintly in the dim light.

Upon reaching the chapel, you find its doors ajar, creaking ominously as you step inside. The interior is a haunting sight—dust motes dance in the air, illuminated by flickering candlelight, casting eerie shadows on the stone walls. In the center of the room stands a raised altar, adorned with dark relics and surrounded by hooded figures chanting in a language long forgotten.

Suddenly, the ground trembles, and a portal begins to form above the altar, swirling with chaotic energy. At that moment, the cult leader, a formidable figure named Malakar the Enigma, steps forward. Clad in robes that shimmer with dark magic, he raises his hands, commanding the energy to grow. "You dare intrude upon our sacred rite? You will pay for your insolence!"

**Boss Enemy: Malakar the Enigma**

– **HP:** 80

– **AC:** 15

– **Attack:** Dark Bolt (Spell Attack +7, 2d10 necrotic damage)

– **Special Ability:** Shadow Step (Once per turn, Malakar can teleport to a location within 30 feet, disappearing into shadows.)

– **Legendary Action:** Summon Shadows (Once per round, Malakar can summon 1d4 shadow minions that fight alongside him until defeated.)

As the battle ensues, the cultists attempt to protect their leader, chanting spells to bolster his power. The room fills with the clashing of steel, the crackle of magic, and the desperate cries of the cultists. Will you manage to defeat Malakar and close the portal, or will the Order of the Shattered Sigil succeed in their dark ambitions?

The fate of Willowdale—and perhaps the world—rests in your hands.
