Tier 2 – The Shadows of Arkenvale

**Tier 2 play**

In the vibrant realm of Eldoria, where magic weaves through the very fabric of existence, a shadow looms over the bustling city of Arkenvale. The once-celebrated Grand Festival of Lights is just days away, and the streets are adorned with colorful banners and shimmering lanterns. Yet, whispers of a sinister plot have begun to circulate, casting an ominous pall over the festivities.

As the adventurers gather in the heart of Arkenvale, they are approached by a frantic townsfolk—a young woman named Elara. Her eyes dart nervously as she explains that several key festival artifacts, enchanted items of great importance, have gone missing from the Temple of the Radiant Sun. Without these artifacts, the festival will be doomed, and the city will fall into despair.

Elara reveals that the theft is linked to a shadowy figure known only as The Veiled One, a master thief rumored to be in league with dark forces. She implores the party to investigate the theft and recover the artifacts before the festival begins. The party must navigate the vibrant streets of Arkenvale, gathering clues and questioning locals who may have seen something unusual.

### Investigation Component

**Clue Gathering:**

1. **The Market Square:** The party can visit the bustling market square, where merchants may have seen suspicious figures lurking around the Temple. A successful Insight or Investigation check (DC 15) reveals that a cloaked figure was seen leaving the temple on the night of the theft.

2. **The Tavern of Whispers:** In this lively establishment, the party can overhear rumors about The Veiled One. A successful Persuasion check (DC 13) can convince a drunken bard to share tales of the thief's past heist, hinting at a hidden base in the nearby Whispering Woods.
