Tier 2 – Shadows Over Luminara (2)

**Tier 2 play**

In the vibrant kingdom of Eldoria, where magic flows like the rivers and the skies shimmer with the colors of enchantment, a shadow looms over the bustling city of Luminara. The once-thriving marketplace, filled with the laughter of children and the aromas of spiced meats, has fallen silent. Rumors swirl like autumn leaves, whispering of a dark sorceress known as Lady Morwenna, who has taken residence in the abandoned castle atop the Misty Peaks. Her malevolent magic has caused crops to wither and the very light of the sun to dim, leaving the people in despair.

As the party gathers in the dimly lit tavern, "The Gilded Griffin," they overhear hushed conversations about the government’s desperate plea for heroes to confront this growing threat. A local noble offers a reward of 500 gold pieces for anyone brave enough to venture into the Misty Peaks and confront Lady Morwenna. The tavern is filled with the scent of ale and roasted meats, and the flickering candlelight casts dancing shadows on the walls, setting the stage for an adventure that promises danger and glory.

The journey to the castle is fraught with challenges. The path winds through the Enchanted Forest, where trees whisper secrets and mischievous sprites play tricks on travelers. As the party navigates the forest, they encounter a group of enchanted wolves, their eyes glowing with an otherworldly light. These guardians of the forest will test the party's resolve, forcing them to either fight or negotiate their passage.

Once they reach the castle, the air grows thick with an eerie silence. The stone walls are covered in creeping vines, and the once-grand entrance is now a gaping maw, beckoning them inside. The interior is a labyrinth of dark corridors and hidden chambers, filled with traps and illusions designed to deter intruders. The party must use their wits and skills to navigate this treacherous maze, discovering clues about Lady Morwenna's dark past and her motivations for casting a blight over the land.

Finally, they confront Lady Morwenna in her throne room, a vast chamber adorned with arcane symbols and flickering candles. She is a striking figure, draped in flowing robes of midnight blue, her eyes reflecting the light of the candles like twin moons. As the party approaches, she rises, her voice smooth and enchanting, yet laced with malice.

**Boss Enemy: Lady Morwenna**

– **HP:** 80

– **AC:** 15

– **Spellcasting:** Can cast spells such as *Fireball*, *Hold Person*, and *Darkness*.

– **Actions:**

– **Arcane Bolt:** Ranged spell attack, +7 to hit, 2d10 force damage.

– **Shadow Step:** Can teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space she can see.

– **Enchanting Gaze:** Each creature within 30 feet must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be charmed until the end of their next turn.

As the battle unfolds, the party must not only defeat Lady Morwenna but also break the curse she has cast upon the land. They will need to work together, combining their strengths and strategies to overcome her formidable magic. Will they emerge victorious, restoring light to Luminara, or will they fall victim to her dark enchantments? The fate of the kingdom rests in their hands.
