Tier 2 – The Shadowmancer’s Grasp A Quest to Save Elden Hollow

**Tier 2 play**

In the vibrant realm of Eldoria, where magic flows like rivers and the skies shimmer with the hues of enchantment, a peculiar event has drawn the attention of adventurers far and wide. The once-peaceful village of Elden Hollow has been beset by a series of mysterious disappearances. Villagers whisper of shadowy figures lurking in the woods at night, and the air is thick with an unsettling tension.

As the sun sets, casting a golden glow over the rolling hills, the party finds themselves in the heart of Elden Hollow. The villagers gather in the town square, their faces etched with worry. An elder, her voice trembling, approaches the adventurers. “Please, brave souls, our children have gone missing! They were last seen playing near the Whispering Woods. We fear something dark has taken them.”

The party must venture into the Whispering Woods, a place known for its ethereal beauty and treacherous paths. As they step into the forest, the atmosphere shifts. The trees loom tall, their leaves whispering secrets in a language only the wind understands. Glowing mushrooms dot the underbrush, illuminating the way with a soft, eerie light. The scent of damp earth and wildflowers fills the air, but an underlying odor of decay lingers, hinting at the danger that lies ahead.

As the adventurers delve deeper, they encounter strange phenomena: flickering lights that dance just out of reach, and echoes of laughter that seem to come from nowhere. Suddenly, they stumble upon a clearing where they find a circle of stones, ancient runes etched into their surfaces. In the center lies a portal, swirling with dark energy, pulsating like a heartbeat.

Before they can investigate further, a figure emerges from the shadows—a sinister Fae known as the Shadowmancer. With a twisted grin, he reveals his plan to harness the children’s pure essence to fuel his dark magic. The party must confront him to save the missing children and close the portal before it unleashes chaos upon Eldoria.

**Boss Enemy: Shadowmancer**

– **HP:** 75

– **AC:** 15

– **Attack:** Shadow Bolt (Ranged Spell Attack, +6 to hit, 2d8 necrotic damage)

– **Special Ability:** Shadow Step (Once per turn, can teleport to an unoccupied space within 30 feet)

– **Legendary Action:** Summon Shadows (Can summon 1d4 shadow minions to aid in battle)

As the battle ensues, the forest around them reacts to the conflict. The trees seem to sway, and the whispers grow louder, urging the party on. Will they defeat the Shadowmancer and rescue the children, or will they fall victim to the darkness that threatens to engulf Eldoria? The fate of the village rests in their hands.
