Tier 2 – The Festival of Whispers A Quest for the Whimsy Wraith

**Tier 2 play**

In the vibrant realm of Eldoria, where the skies shimmer with hues of magic and the air is thick with the scent of enchanted flora, a peculiar event has captured the attention of its inhabitants. The annual Festival of Whispers is upon the people of Luminara, a city known for its breathtaking architecture and lively marketplaces. This year, however, an unsettling mystery looms over the festivities.

As the sun sets, casting a golden glow over the bustling streets, a series of strange occurrences begins to unfold. Vendors report that their enchanted wares have been mysteriously vanishing, leaving behind only a faint trace of shimmering dust. Rumors swirl among the townsfolk that a mischievous spirit has emerged from the ancient woods, seeking to disrupt the joyous occasion.

Your party finds themselves amidst the chaos, drawn to the vibrant festival. The townspeople plead for your help, describing the spirit as a playful yet elusive entity known as the Whimsy Wraith. This spectral trickster is said to thrive on chaos and mischief, and it has been spotted near the Enchanted Grove just outside the city.

To uncover the truth behind the Wraith’s antics, your party must embark on a journey into the heart of the grove. As you traverse the winding paths, the air thickens with magic, and the trees seem to whisper secrets of old. The deeper you venture, the more the environment shifts—flowers bloom in impossible colors, and the very ground sparkles with a faint luminescence.

Upon reaching a clearing, the party encounters the Whimsy Wraith, a swirling mass of vibrant colors and laughter that echoes through the grove. The Wraith, while mischievous, is not inherently malevolent. It reveals that it has been playing tricks to draw attention to the plight of forgotten spirits trapped in the grove, yearning for freedom. It challenges the party to a game of wits and skill, where they must solve riddles and overcome magical obstacles to prove their worth.

**Game Mechanics:**

– **Riddles:** The Wraith presents three riddles. Each correct answer allows the party to gain insight into the spirits' plight. Incorrect answers result in harmless but humorous magical pranks.

– **Obstacles:** The party must navigate through illusions and enchanted barriers, requiring skill checks (e.g., Dexterity saving throws) to bypass or dispel them.

**Final Confrontation:**

Once the party has proven their cleverness, the Wraith reveals its true form—a beautiful spirit bound by ancient magic. To free the trapped spirits, the party must confront the source of the binding magic: an ancient artifact known as the Heart of the Grove, guarded by a corrupted treant.

– **Attacks:**

– **Multiattack:** The treant can make two slam attacks.

– **Slam:** +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) bludgeoning damage.

– **Entangling Roots (Recharge 5-6):** The treant can summon roots to restrain players in a 20-foot radius, requiring a Strength saving throw (DC 15) to escape.

Once defeated, the party can use their newfound knowledge to break the binding spell and release the spirits. In gratitude, the Wraith grants the adventurers a boon—a piece of enchanted jewelry that enhances their abilities for the duration of the festival.

As the festival resumes, the vibrant energy of Eldoria is restored, and the party is hailed as heroes, their names whispered in awe throughout the land. The adventure concludes with the promise of new mysteries and challenges awaiting them beyond the horizon.
