As the sun sets, casting long shadows across the cobblestone streets, the adventurers find themselves in the village tavern, The Laughing Lantern. The warm glow of candles flickers, illuminating the worried faces of the villagers. An elderly woman, her hands trembling, approaches the party. "Please, you must help us! My grandson, Thomas, went into the woods to gather herbs, and he hasn't returned. The others have vanished too! I fear they have been taken by the Shadowed Veil."
