Tier 2 – The Heart of Magic A Quest in Glimmerwood

**Tier 2 play**

In the vibrant realm of Eldoria, where ancient trees touch the skies and rivers shimmer with a magical glow, an urgent summons has reached the ears of adventurers. The town of Glimmerwood, celebrated for its enchanting flora and renowned for its powerful herbalists, lies in turmoil. A mysterious blight has fallen upon the village, tainting their prized magical herbs and causing disarray among its inhabitants.

As your party arrives in Glimmerwood, the air is thick with tension. Villagers whisper tales of a shadowy figure—an enigmatic sorceress known only as Selene, rumored to have stolen an artifact that maintains the balance of magic in the region. Her lair is said to be hidden within the depths of the Whispering Thicket, a mystical forest where reality bends and shadows dance with life.

Guided by the flickering lights of glowing mushrooms and the distant whispers of ancient spirits, your party embarks on a journey into the Thicket. As they navigate through the vibrant foliage, they uncover clues left behind by Selene. The clues hint at her thirst for power and a dark ritual she intends to perform using the stolen artifact. Players must solve intricate puzzles, like aligning stones to reflect moonlight, and charm mischievous faeries who guard the paths.

Running low on time, the party must hurry deeper into the forest, where they encounter nature's guardians, enchanted beasts that test their resolve. One such guardian, a majestic HUGE FAE TIGER, stands between them and Selene’s lair. It roars and challenges the party in a dramatic confrontation, intent on stopping them from advancing.

**Tiger Stat Block:**

– **Hit Points:** 85

– **Armor Class:** 15

– **Attack:** Bite (2d10 + 5 slashing damage)

– **Special Ability:** Roar of the Wild: Once per encounter, the tiger can unleash a thunderous roar that instills fear. Creatures within a 30-foot radius must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute.

With wisdom or strength, your party must defeat or persuade the tiger to let them pass. Once the way is clear, they find Selene’s lair—a cavern adorned with bioluminescent crystals and swirling mists concealing the artifact: The Heart of Magic. The atmosphere crackles with tension as Selene, cloaked in shadows, confronts them.

“Lay down your weapon, you are surrounded,” she sneers, her voice laced with disdain.

“All I am surrounded by is fear. And dead men,” she retorts, her eyes glowing ominously. A battle is inevitable, and she won’t yield without a fight.

**Selene Stat Block:**

– **Hit Points:** 120

– **Armor Class:** 17

– **Attack:** Arcane Bolt (3d10 force damage)

– **Special Ability:** Shadow Meld: She can become invisible for one turn, reappearing in a 30-foot radius as a bonus action.

As the clash unfolds, the party must think creatively, capitalize on the environment, and use their unique skills to counter her dark magic. Will they rescue the Heart of Magic, restore peace to Glimmerwood, and emerge as the heroes of this enchanting land? The outcome lies in their hands!
